Why I am not afraid of the Coronavirus...

We are in a unique time for this generation. Never before do I remember restaurants, bars, theaters, church services closed. Public gatherings of 10 or more banned.

Do you know of another time in the 20th or 21st century like this?

People are fearful. People are worried. And why is toilet paper the first and still one of the main items missing from store shelves?

I am not afraid and I am not alone. Why, you ask?

"Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling..."

Psalm 91:9-10

People and religion make following Creator God difficult with lots of rules and regulations. But what does He say?

Jesus said the entire law is summed up in loving God with all of our hearts, mind, and soul, and to love our neighbor as much as we love our self (Matthew 22:36-40).

Creator God wants from us the same thing any of us want from our relationships: love and trust. Trusting God means having faith in Him. Hebrews 11:6 says "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

Jesus said in John 11:40 "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?"

So it comes down to who are you going to believe and who are you going to trust? As for me and my house, we are going to trust with our lives the one who gives us life...our loving and faithful Creator.

God promises some very specific things if we love Him and trust Him. Such as these verses in Psalm 91:14-16:

"Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation."

We choose to believe God and take Him at His Word. He gave everything for us and that is the gospel truth!
